The Art-to-Go Roll by Baby Sophia Gifts

Irene Nam's post about what she has to bring along whenever she goes out with her children really struck a chord with me -- for us and our toddler, Alex, it's all about drawing right now.  It's really nice to go to a restaurant and park her in her booster chair with a piece of paper and some sort of writing utensil -- she happily colours until our food arrives.

Of course, the thing is, I never remember to bring anything along for her to write with.  Invariably, we have to bum a pen from a waitperson, and Alex is forced to create her masterpieces on the back of an old receipt I find at the bottom of my bag.

So, of course, I find myself drawn to the Art-to-Go Roll by Baby Sophia gifts -- a specially-designed little roll-pack of crayons and other crafty goods that you can throw into your bag and have ready at a moment's notice.  You might think the reason I like it is because of its cute design.  Or the fact that it's only US$ 12.00.  Or the fact that the website ships internationally.  But the real reason I love this?

Because it's made me realize that I can make up a special art pack for my daughter myself, and keep it in a Ziploc bag at the bottom of my bag to be used specifically for this reason, for much less money.  I love when inspiration comes from unexpected places.
